Neuigkeiten in RF-HUB

Versionshinweise zu jeder RF-HUB-Firmware — neue Funktionen, Verbesserungen und Fehlerbehebungen.

Version 5.2.16

  • A phone left on the hub's page in a pocket no longer eats the hub's memory. A hidden tab drops its connection after a minute and reconnects when shown again; a client that stops reading is closed after ten seconds and the page reconnects by itself; and the hub keeps at most four queued frames per page instead of thirty-two.
  • A hub with Home Assistant or the app switching many devices no longer restarts at random. The list of devices waiting to be saved was written from several tasks at once; it is now guarded, and saves always happen in one place.
  • Opening the schedule or automation page no longer restarts the hub when a schedule, an automation or the app has tried to switch a device that has since been removed.
  • The web page answers "low on memory, reload in a moment" instead of restarting the hub when it is asked for the page while memory is scarce.
  • A hidden Wi-Fi network can now be chosen. The network list has an "Other network" entry where the name is typed in.
  • More free memory for hubs with Home Assistant and many devices. Internal working areas that were never more than a quarter used have been trimmed, giving back about 22 kB to the parts of the hub that need it.
  • The status page shows the hub's clock, so a time-related question can be checked at a glance.
  • Fixes a memory waste during backups when the cloud link was momentarily busy.

Version 5.2.15

  • Same content as 5.2.14, rebuilt for the hubs that could not be re-offered 5.2.14.

Version 5.2.14

  • A web page left open no longer burdens the hub. The schedule, automation, info, network and update pages used to ask the hub for everything again every five seconds for as long as they were open, even in a background tab. They now update when something changes, pause while the tab is hidden, and the hub ignores repeated identical requests from older cached pages.
  • Support can read the hub's full status through the cloud, so a memory or radio question can be answered without a visit or a cable.

Version 5.2.13

  • The hub no longer restarts when its radio stops answering. In rare cases the radio could stop responding to the hub, and the hub would then restart on its own after a short while. It now wakes the radio up again and keeps running.

Version 5.2.12

  • Fixes a fault in the hub's status page data introduced earlier the same day (5.2.11 was replaced before reaching more than the first hubs).
  • A hub with many devices no longer runs short of memory while its web page is open. Every switch command - from a schedule, an automation, Home Assistant or the app - used to resend the complete device list to the page, and on a hub with 25 or more devices that was enough to drop connections and restart the hub. The page now receives just the value that changed, and the full list only when a device is added, removed or renamed, sent in small pieces with a pause between them.
  • The automation and schedule pages no longer restart a hub with many devices. Opening either page built the complete device list in memory at once; on a hub with 45 devices that was enough to crash it. Both pages now receive the list in small pieces, like the device page.
  • The local device API and webhook name lookups no longer build the whole device list in memory, and the hub now records where it stood when its free memory hit its lowest point, so the next such dip can be traced.
  • An automation rule runs once per button press. A remote repeats its signal several times within one press, and each repeat used to run the rule again - a toggle could land on either state.

Version 5.2.10

  • A hub that had run out of room takes new devices again. Device records are stored far more compactly, and a hub that is already full converts its own records one at a time after the update — no reset, nothing to do.
  • Switches and dimmers come back the way you left them after a power cut, and sensor readings survive a restart.
  • Home Assistant connects on the first try. About one start in three, the first connection to the MQTT broker stalled for a few seconds and the hub ran short of memory while it waited; it recovered on the retry, but readings in that window were lost. Fixed at the root.
  • The hub finds its way back to qtrl.me by itself if the connection dies quietly. It used to be able to sit for a day with working Wi-Fi and a working radio while the app showed it as offline.

Version 5.2.9

A calmer restart, especially with many devices

  • The hub takes it more gently when it restarts. It sends its device list to qtrl.me in batches and waits until it has room to spare before it connects to Home Assistant. On hubs with a lot of devices this was what could make them unsteady for the first minute after a restart.
  • Your devices appear in Home Assistant a little later after a restart than they used to. Nothing is lost — it just arrives at a calmer pace.
  • The receiver stays switched on while the hub sends a command, instead of being built up again every time. When that rebuild failed, the hub could be left unable to hear anything for hours.

Version 5.2.8

What you get when you update from 5.0.

More sensors, fewer readings lost

  • The hub hears sensors that sit far away or run on weak batteries better than before.
  • Oregon sensors that went quiet on 5.1 work again — THGR810 thermometers, PCR800 rain gauges and WGR800 wind sensors.
  • New support: Oregon rain gauges PCR122 and RGR968, the Cotech / Kjell & Co weather station with rainfall, light and UV, the Sonoff RM433R2 remote and the vidaXL / WISTAR 1101 awning.
  • Thermometers in the Nexus / Rubicson family (MarQuant, Bright, Clas Ohlson) show humidity when they measure it.
  • Reception no longer stops working after the hub sends a command.

More from your rain gauge

  • Rain right now in mm/h, rain today that starts over at midnight, and a counter of your own that you reset whenever you like.

Easier to keep tidy

  • Every device shows its signal strength, so you can see which ones are struggling.
  • When a sensor takes a new identity after a battery change, merge it with the old one. Your rain totals carry across.
  • Correct a thermometer that reads a degree off.
  • Delete all devices with one button when you want to start over.

Home Assistant

  • Your own names are the ones Home Assistant shows.
  • Values are still there after Home Assistant restarts.
  • Devices you add or remove show up and disappear straight away.
  • The connection stays steady even with a lot of sensors.

You decide when the hub updates itself

  • New setting: auto-update. Tick it and new software is installed when it is released.
  • The update page is clearer, and the button says which version it will install.

Safer and steadier

  • The hub no longer restarts by itself during an update or when it has a lot to do.
  • Support can see how your hub is doing and help you with a setting without a house call. Your Wi-Fi details and a factory reset can never be reached from outside.
  • The remote-access link to qtrl.me is only shown for the first ten minutes after the hub has been powered on.

Version 5.0.0

Control Somfy blinds & awnings

  • Somfy RTS blinds and awnings — open, close and stop your Somfy motors, and hold the button to run a motor to any position. Pair them straight from the hub.

A more reliable hub

  • Rock-solid connection during heavy use — the hub now stays connected to Home Assistant and your smart-home services even when you're sending lots of commands at once. No more dropouts while controlling many devices.

Try new features early

  • Test versions — turn on "Receive test versions" under Firmware to try upcoming features before they're officially released. You can always switch back to the latest stable release.

Easier to use

  • See the firmware version at a glance, with a friendly reminder when an update is available.
  • Hold to move — press and hold Up or Down on a blind to run the motor; release to stop.
  • Status light — the hub's LED now tells you what it's doing at a glance: green means running (with a brief wink every few seconds so you know it's alive), white while starting up, blue in setup mode, yellow while connecting to Wi‑Fi, and a red blink if something's wrong. You can set its brightness under Settings.
  • Clearer setup when adding channels, and a fix so blinds show the right control type.
